Guidance

Between easy and abundant access to information for many on one side, and unavailability of reliable information to many on the other side is the reality today. Elderly can get confused many a times. Elder Line helps people by understanding their concerns and providing proper guidance. This can be of any form ranging from legal issues, pension related information, senior citizen’s card to any other scheme that could be helpful for the elderly.

An elderly person aged about 75 years, called Elder Line seeking help. He had issues with the association members of his apartment in Hyderabad. Though he did not clearly specify the exact issue, but he narrated that he was being harassed by them. His daughter and son-in-law came to stay along with him in order to support him. One day, the daughter was called for the association meeting and an argument ensued thereafter. The elderly person who had accompanied his daughter for the meeting felt humiliated as the association members degraded him.

On getting the details of the case the Elder Line officer counselled the elderly person and updated him that we work for senior citizens’ safety and support. She gave him moral support and connected him to the legal department for legal opinion. The legal advisor spoke to the elderly person and guided the next course of action to be taken and the elderly person followed the advice. The matter was soon settled with his apartment association members.

Later, the elderly person called and informed that after suffering for almost 3 years, finally he could get a solution to his problem. He appreciated the services/support from the team of Elder Line.
